Description

Canto di Lago, translates to ‘Song of the Lake’ , referring to the vineyard where this wine started from. Located next to the shores of Lake Alexandrina in Langhorne Creek. Our vignerons claim that the sound of the gently lapping water is more beautiful for a vine than any other sound and is the elixir of the Mediterranean grape varieties used in this unique blend. James Halliday TOP 100 Wines of 2012. Feb 2012

“Good colour and depth; the long back label might have inspired a 21st century Shakespeare to write Much Ado About Nothing; it must have been tempting to write at least a sonnet about the depth and typicity of the plush plum, blackberry and dark chocolate wine, embroidered with oak and soft tannins.”

Stephen Tanzer Int’l Wine Cellar – July 2012.

“Opaque ruby. Powerful, brooding aromas of blackcurrant and cherry compote. Lush and expansive, offering gently sweet dark fruit flavors that pick up spiciness with air. Closes on a smoky note, with very good power and sweet persistence.” Josh Raynolds.

The Wine Advocate, #204 , Dec 2012.

“Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Chocolate Factory Shiraz has aromas of blackberry and plum preserves over nuances of tar, green peppercorns and licorice. Medium to full-bodied and packed with muscular fruit in the mouth, it reveals a somewhat savory / peppery style supported by a medium level of chewy tannins and lively acid, finishing long.” Lisa Perotti-Brown.
