Zonte’s Footstep’s Canto di Lago vineyard, meaning ‘Song of the Lake’ is planted next to the shores of Lake Alexandrina. Our vignerons claim that the sound of the gently lapping of the water is the more beautiful for a vine than any other sound, and is the made of Mediterranean grape varieties such as in this blend.

Lush round blackberry and plums, tempered with some light but typical Sangiovese savoury tannin.

Vineyard Notes
The Canto di Lago vineyard is on a 40 million year old alluvial plain, nestled between two rivers adjacent to Lake Alexandrina, upstream from the River Murray’s sea mouth. It is an oasis in a cool desert with vines planted on their own roots, in maritime red sands that sit over pre-Cambrian Limestone and ideal for growing grapes.
Production Notes
This is the eighth consecutive vintage of this wine. Comprised of Sangiovese 55% and Barbera 45%.

Sangiovese and Barbera are not “old world”, not even “new world”, anything loud. Featured at Jamie's Italian Adelaide.
