James Halliday's Wine Companion 2017 Results

"Zonte's Footstep has been very successful since a group of long-standing friends, collectively with deep knowledge of every aspect of the wine business, decided it was time to do something together. Along the way there has been some shuffing of the deck chairs, all achieved without any ill feeling from those who moved sideways or backwards. The major change has been a broadening of the regions (Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, the Barossa and Clare valleys and elsewhere) from which the grapes are sourced. Even here, however, most of the vineyards supplying grapes are owned by members of the Zonte's Footstep partnership. Exports to the UK, Belgium, Sweden, The Netherlands, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and China."  (p. 754)

2013 Z Force – 94 pts

"85% shiraz, 15% petite syrah from McLaren Vale, open and closed fermenters, matured for 18 months in new and used hogsheads. Deep, gleaming inky purple; all about hedonism: this bypasses the head, travelling through the heart and establishing a lasting friendship with the stomach. It’s the outcome of some very clever winemaking. Screw cap. 15% alc"  (p. 754-55)

2014 Avalon Tree Cabernet – 94 pts

"From Langhorne Creek and Blewitt Springs, gold medal Perth Wine Show '15. A typically rich, open and generous Langhorne Creek style with red and black currant fruits, plus a little spice ex the oak. Screwcap. 14.5% alc" (p. 755)

2014 Chocolate Factory Shiraz – 92 pts

2015 Doctoressa di Lago Pinot Grigio – 90 pts

2014 Lake Doctor Shiraz – 90 pts

2014 Violet Beauregard Malbec – 90 pts

(p. 755)
